STATEMENT

British artist Ed Catley has exhibited across the UK and internationally and has written several academic papers on a variety of Art & Design topics published by Shandong University, Jinan and Cumulus. Catley makes a contribution to the debate about formalism in contemporary art – the concept that everything necessary in a work of art is contained within it. He is also interested in the exhibition as a medium and is the curator of ‘Printing in Dutch’ and ‘Printing in Swiss’. His work is held in permanent collections in Europe, North America and the Middle East.

‘…the detail in his prints are sublime’ Keep On Rolling, 2022

‘An intelligent ‘post-abstract’ figuration that could not have existed before the information age.’ Printmaking Today, 2019

Represented by Soden Gallery
